1. The purpose of IMA (Program) is to encourage Amateur Radio from Israel (Activators for this program) and around the world (Chasers) to provide an award system for Radio Amateurs. The Program is intended to encourage activity from peaks, including major mountains and even some rechasim and G"vaot as well as some summits  .
The program chasing is  based on points earning, according to a scoring system for each reference.
The Program is intended for portable operation (/P) and in some cases mobile operation (M).
The Program provides for participation by Activators who make QSOs from the mountains/Summits , Chasers who make contact with the Activators, and Short Wave Listeners.
2. A Management team appointed for this Program and is holding  the responsibility for the overall management of this Program. Specifically, it is responsible for creating and maintaining the General Rules.
3. Regions: Israel consist of 4 regions as follow:
Hadarom – SD-Southern district.
HF-Haifa.
JS-Jerusalem.
ND- Northern district.
4. Participants:
There are three Classes of Participant: Activators, Chasers and SWLs. Points awarded in each Class and awards are available recognizing specified levels of achievement.
Teams/individuals may be formed to participate in the Activator Class but points scored may accrue only to individuals. Club stations will take participity as a group .
5. Program start date : 01.01.2017 12:00 utc.
6. The Reference System:
Each Region in Israel assigned a unique two-character identifier. Individual Mountain within the Region are assigned a number starting 001.
This creates a unique Reference Number in the form, e.g. SD-003. Leading zeros are appllied as shown where the number is less than 100. Leading zeros are applied as shown where the number is less than 100. The Reference Number is used throughout the Program to identify the mountain.
7a. Definition of a reference –The minimum mountain elevetion that can be accepted in this Program is 150 metres high, an activation range will be count not more then 100 meters operating stand.
7b. Mountains/Summits that are accessible by road can still be included in the program.
8. Adding and deleting references-
A first list of references was created by the management team of the program .
References can be add to the Program provided they meet the definition.
A reference that is added in this way will be valid for general activation from the date that the Reference Number is issued. Activations prior to this start date will not be valid .
Same rule for deleted references.
The Management team has the right to delete a reference in case there is a long time with no activity from an individual reference, due political reason or army dangerous area becoming.
9. Rules for Activators:
9a. The Activator must hold an appropriate transmitting licence to count an expedition.
such as power and frequency limits.
9b. Operations mostly will be portable (/P), in cases that there is a road on the mountain the mobile operation (/M) is permitted from a motor vehicle. The use of a bike (non-motorized) to the activation zone is allowed.
9c. At least one QSO must be made from the reference to qualify it as an activation and a minimum of 2 hrs of activation.
9d.QSOs with other activators in the same activation area is not counting for an operation.
9e. Activators must submit a log of the Expedition in order to claim points. In the event that a claim is not to be made , Activators are still asked to submit logs so that Chaser claims can be substantiated. Logs will be submitted to the award Manager after the activation and no longer then a week after the activation.
10. Rules for chasers :
10a .The Chaser must hold an appropriate transmitting license.
10b. The Chaser must make a QSO with the mountain Expedition, in which at least callsigns and two-way reports exchanged. Wherever possible, the IMA Reference Number should also be obtained as part of the QSO.
10c. Chasers who wish to participate in the award program scheme must submit a log showing details of all QSOs with Expeditions for which they wish to claim points.
10d. QSL cards are not required.
11. Rules for SWLS :
11a.Anyone can participate in the SWL section, whether they hold an amateur radio licence or not.
11b. The SWL must receive a QSO between the mountain Expedition and any other radio amateur, during which at least callsigns and two-way reports exchanged. This information must be recorded by the SWL. Where the IMA Reference Number is given as part of the QSO this must be recorded.
11c. SWLs who wish to participate in the award program scheme must submit a log showing details of all QSOs heard with Expeditions for which they wish to claim points.
11d. QSL cards are not required.
12. Scoring System:
A scoring system relating to the height of the mountain.
10 points > 900m
8 points > 800m
6 points > 700m
4 points > 600m
2 points > 500m
1 point < 500m
13a.Awards and certificates:
* Unique mountains awards. Each mountain counts only once, regardless of the number of qualifying activations.
* Certificates will be awarded for 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500 and so on , in each award category. Separate certificates are awarded in the Activators , Chasers and SWL sections.
All these certificates and trophies are issued upon a request, by the Awards manager , based on log-extracts.
*Awards are based on electronic Jpg high quality format, no fee.
If request a paper award cost will be 9$.
Cost for the throphy will be published by time.
Other Awards are issued : These include "Gilboa Summits Award","Eilat Summits Award", "IMA Winter Activity" etc. Rules for these awards will be published on the IMA Website.
13b. An "Israel Mountains Award" program day will be held every year to promote this program. Date of activity day will be published by the award program manager , soon.
14. Administration: The Management Team administers the Program on a volunteer basis .
15. Information: IMA Program Activators are encouraged to publicise their intended Expeditions to maximise the opportunity for Chasers to make contact, in any case before a planned activation activators must update the award manager about the planned activity.

16. Rights: The IMA Program name and logo may be freely used for non-commercial purposes that are clearly related to the program. Examples might be the use of the logo on a QSL card of a keen activator, or as part of a personal web site.
17. IMA Program will be in co-operation with the 4XFF program and the Hollyland award program.

IMA Program management draws your attention to the fact that some mountains may be difficult to activate. Other mountains may lie on military administrated and military areas or mines areas (especially in the northern district ) .



Eilat Summits Award
To obtain this award ,activator/chaser/SWL have to log ,activations from several summits of the Eilat Mountains .Eilat mountains are a term for a mountain range in the south of Israel.
The mountains are named after the nearby city of Eilat and the biblical name of the city Eilot (Eiloth), which was situated where today the city of Eilat is located .
 
Hams from Israel must work/hear all 20 summits.
Hams from EU/AS/USA/CA must work/hear at least 10 of 20 summits.
Hams from other locations must work/hear at least 5 of 20 summits.
Activators wants to obtain this award as Activator category , must operate from all 20 summits.
No band/mode restrictions.
Pls send log extract to the award manager , with a specify if an unique request needed eg. "ALL CW" etc.
Award start date : 01.06.2017
List of Summits , all of them count also for WFF 4XFF-0021.

Gilboa Summits Award
To obtain this award ,activator/chaser/SWL have to log ,activations from several summits of the Gilboa Mountain. Mount Gilboa , sometimes called the Mountains of Gelboe , is a mountain range overlooking the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel. The meaning of the name Gilboa is boiling springs; bubbling fountains; agitated pools; water bursting from the rock.
Hams from Israel must work/hear all 8 summits.
Hams from EU/AS/USA/CA must work/hear at least 5 of 8 summits.
Hams from other locations must work/hear at least 3 of 8 summits.
Activators wants to obtain this award as Activator category , must operate from all 8 summits.
No band/mode restrictions.
No QSL needed.
Pls send log extract to the award manager , with a specify if an unique request needed eg. "ALL CW" etc.
Award start date : 01.06.2017
List of Summits , all of them count also for WFF 4XFF-0012.
